EETB - East of England Tourist Board

Our agency held an annual membership with the East of England Tourist Board for over 25 years but, as from 1st April 2006, we ceased to be members.

To explain ... VisitBritain is a government funded, commercial tourism organisation which “...works in partnership with the national tourist boards in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales...”.  “Visitbritain also aims to raise around £20 million non-Government funding through partnerships and other activities through 2005/06”.

Visitbritain also governs the regional Tourist Boards of England and has now dictated that, in order for self-catering agencies to retain their annual membership, at least 50% of the properties they promote must participate in the ‘national quality assurance scheme’.

Mrs Jane Good (Holidays) Limited will not spend the thousands of pounds it will cost for the doubtful benefit of (possibly) being visited once a year by a person of unknown qualification to judge the self-catering holiday homes we confidently and happily promote. We are proud of our 30 years experience in the self-catering holiday business, our excellent reputation, and many repeat bookings.  We firmly believe that this alone is what our visitors from the United Kingdom and from all over the world appreciate.

Our holiday home owners naturally ensure that their properties are of a standard their visitors will enjoy, feel relaxed and comfortable in and will want to return to.   We visit the properties we promote regularly and are confident that each one is of the standard our paying customers would expect to find.

We do not need to spend a large sum of money for an external ‘authority’ to tell us, and our owners, what to do and how to run our businesses!

We are members of the Federation of Small Businesses.
