Situated just off the A1120 (the Yoxford to Stowmarket road), the sprawling Parish of Badingham lies deep in the rural countryside of East Suffolk.  The A1120 links up with the A12 to the east of the county which gives easy access to the coast and the popular resorts like Southwold and Dunwich.   To the west, the A1120 crosses the A140 which takes you north to Norwich and Norfolk or takes you to the A14 and over into west Suffolk.   Therefore, Badingham is in an ideal location for a rural holiday but with the access routes close by for exploring Suffolk, even most of East Anglia!  The White Horse pub is about a mile away and the market town of Framlingham with its famous castle is about 4 miles away.

BedroomColston Cottage was originally a granary which was converted into a farm dwelling about one hundred years ago and enjoys lovely views over fishing lakes within the Alde Valley, designated a ‘Special Landscape Area’.  It has now been modernised providing comfortable accommodation for not more than seven persons and boasts a ‘4 stars’ award from the Tourist Board.  Within the curtilage of a sixteenth century Elizabethan farmhouse, the cottage forms part of the farm buildings on this working farm (mainly pasture and sheep), yet it is self-contained with a garden and ample car parking spaces. A well stocked coarse fishing lake is available all year round as well as 2 full length indoor bowls rinks.

Single bedroomThe owners also run a Bed & Breakfast business ('4 diamond' rated by the Tourist Board) - sleeping 12 persons all with ensuite facilities.

On the ground floor of the cottage, there is a living room, a small fitted kitchen, good sized dining room with patio doors to the garden, a utility room and a ground floor bedroom with a double bed and an ensuite shower room.   On the first floor, there is one bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with two single beds and a further single bedroom plus a bathroom with WC.

The household amenities include electric cooker, refrigerator, small chest freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, coin operated phone, radio, cd player, colour TV and BBQ and garden furniture.   There is gas central heating for the cooler months.  The owners provide bedding (duvets and blankets) and all bedlinen but please remember to bring towels and teacloths with you.  Newspapers, groceries and milk deliveries can be arranged - please notify us accordingly at the time of making your holiday booking.

It is regretted that the owners can not accept pets or smokers.

PLEASE NOTE that visitors are politely requested not to arrive until 4.00pm, please.
