Although the village of Snape is world famous for its concert hall and music festivals, it is a popular self catering holiday location, due to its proximity to Aldeburgh, the Heritage Coast, the heaths, forests, rivers and bird reserves.  No where is Suffolk is very far from Snape!  The quiet lanes and paths in the locality make it an ideal area for walking and cycling.  The village itself offers a complex of interesting shops at the Maltings, three pubs, a good village store, a post office, church and garage.

Croft Farm is set well back from the road to Aldeburgh up a long, unmade farm track on the outskirts of the village in a quiet and peaceful location.  The very high standard of renovation and refurbishment of The Forge was completed in spring 2003 and the results have been awarded a 4 star self-catering rating from the East of England Tourist Board.

The Forge is a detached, galleried, studio cottage, converted from a traditional farm building, and provides well appointed accommodation for not more than two/three persons.  It is only a few yards away from The Granary so is ideal for grandparents, nannies or for those holidaying with visitors to The Granary but who want their own separate accommodation.  However, being fully self-contained and separate, The Forge also offers small, comfortable accommodation for two people wanting to be close to the sea in rural surroundings.

Double glazed doors lead into the open plan, ground floor living area with a fully fitted kitchen area and the living/dining area.  A shower room with WC and wash hand basin is located off the kitchen.  Solid, curved wooden stairs lead up to a south facing gallery bedroom with two single beds and an abundance of natural light.  There is a sofa bed downstairs for a third visitor.

Outside the glazed entrance is a little garden area and, as this faces due south, there is a shaded area around the corner of the building beside the car parking area.

In the kitchen there is an electric cooker, microwave, fridge with ice making compartment, washer/dryer and ample cooking and dining equipment, a television in the living area and the owner provides duvets, pillows and all bedlinen and towels.   For the cooler months, there are electric night storage heaters.

Due to the size and presentation of The Forge, it is regretted that mobile children, pets and smokers can not be permitted.
